I then expanded my business and became a practising Corneotherapist. Whilst undergoing this education and training, I discovered that I loved learning about cosmetic chemistry and ingredients in skin care products. I stock and prescribe a range of skincare called dermaviduals, products I am passionate about as they contain skin-identical ingredients. Your skin care products should contain no preservatives, conventional emulsifiers, colours, fragrance, mineral oils, silicones or amines.

When I perform a skin consultation, I educate my clients on what to look for in a good skincare range and thus enable them to make well-informed, educated decisions on what to use and what not to use. The “shelves of shame” in my treatment room have become an example of some of the products that are unhealthy for us to use. This has enabled me to become well-known in my field and help many clients with skin concerns such as acne, eczema, rosacea, pigmentation and anti-aging concerns.

My menu offers customised facials which include a healing blanket, facial steamer and LED therapy. I also perform collagen induction therapy and stock and sell Moo Goo, Simka, Mother SPF and No Pong deodorant. Additionally, I have a doctor who visits once every three months to perform anti-aging treatments and skin checks.

I have been a nurse for over 40 years and still work an occasional shift at our private hospitals in Launceston. Having a medical background and working alongside a doctor has proved advantageous for my clients, at times aiding in the early detection of skin cancers and other skin disorders.
